What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge is a permanent dental appliance that is a great solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. This dental restoration gets its name from the way it works; a dental bridge uses high-quality replacement teeth to literally bridge the gap between a missing tooth and the surrounding natural teeth. Our talented dentist, Dr. James M. Kinney, may suggest a dental bridge in Marietta, Georgia to:
- Replace one or more missing teeth
- Restore your ability to eat and speak properly
- Improve facial volume and shape
- Return your confident, beautiful smile
- Prevent natural teeth from shifting out of place
There are many types of dental bridges available, and the type you need is based on which teeth in your smile are missing. We will determine what is best for your smile after a comprehensive examination and consultation.
How are dental bridges put in?
Traditional bridges, comprised of two dental crowns and an artificial tooth called a pontic, are the most common dental bridges used by our patients. To apply the dental bridge, we will place a dental crown on the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth or teeth. Once everything looks and functions perfectly, the dental bridge will be cemented into place. For more information about the benefits of dental bridges, please contact our dental office today.
